Hello friend and welcome back to the blog! We've been in full packing mode as we're getting set to move next month, so it has been a bit since I've been able to sit down and write a post. It's coming up pretty fast, but I'm excited!
But for today, I pulled out a recently retired favourite, the Breathtaking Bouquet Stamp Set. I decided to do some ink blending with a variety of ink colours and our Stampin' Up! Sponge Daubers. Sponge Daubers are a small durable foam crafting tool that allows you to seamlessly add colour to your projects. The Sponge Daubers fit right on your finger tips, which gives you complete control on where and how much ink you add.
Here is a closer look at the Sponge Daubers:
Sponge Dauber Pro Tip: Use one Sponge Dauber per ink colour or you will risk cross-contaminating your colours! You'll want to grab a few packs on your next order. They are very inexpensive and come in packs of 5 for just $7!
Tips and Tricks:
Card Base: 8.5" x 5.5", scored at 4-1/4".
Whisper White layer: 5" x 3-3/4"
For any background stamp set such as this one, I recommend using the Stamparatus. This will allow you to get a nice even impression on your paper.
To use your Sponge Daubers, gently press the dauber into your ink pad to pick up colour and then dab your stamp set until you get the desired coverage. To get the blending effect like I did on this card, ink at varying levels for each colour. This will give you that blending effect and make it look like the colours are making that soft transition in between.
The colours I used from top to bottom are Calypso Coral, So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz, Mint Macaron, Balmy Blue, and Highland Heather. All of these colours are part of the Subtles Classic Stampin' Pad Assortment.
The stamped layer is adhered to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
The 'Thanks To You' sentiment is from the A Good Man Stamp Set and is heat embossed on Basic Black Cardstock using White Stampin' Emboss Powder.
I finished off the card by adhering several of the clear Flowers For Every Season Gems using the Fine Tip Glue Pen.
While the Breathtaking Bouquet Stamp Set is no longer available, take a look at the All Wired Up Background Stamp Set as an alternative.
You can find a full list of supplies used at the bottom of this post.
I hope you'll give this technique a try! It's really fun, especially when you get to experiment with different colour combinations!
