Well hello there, crafty friend! Welcome to the Sweet Paper Studios Blog! If you've noticed I haven't blogged in a little while it's because we moved two weeks ago and have been busy packing, purging, sorting and then getting settled into our new home!
I am happy to pick-up my regular blogging again and I am even more thrilled that I get to do it with the One Stamp At A Time Blog Hop Team! I am excited to share my projects with you today that goes with our them of 'You've Got This'. It's all about encouragement and spreading joy for a happy reason; whether it be a new job, the start of school, or any other occasion.
Since my boys' start school next week, my projects are for my boys' Teachers. To say that this school year will be different and more challenging than ever before is a bit of an understatement, so I wanted to offer up a small gesture to let them know we are in their corner no matter what happens. We know the school staff and teachers, are doing all they can to make the school as safe as possible, and for that I am grateful.
For this card I have paired two pretty awesome stamps sets - Harvest Hellos and Ridiculously Awesome. I have used both heavily and they will forever be a staple in my craft room. The Harvest Hellos Stamp Set coordinates with the Apple Builder Punch, which I also used. I highly recommend purchasing these two items together to maximum your use of the stamp set. You can find both items in my online shop HERE.
Card Measurements and Details:
Cherry Cobbler Card Base: 8- 1/2" x 5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4".
Whisper White Layer (Embossed with the Subtle Embossing Folder): 5-1/4" x 4"
Patterned Paper: 4" x 2"
For the apple on the card, I used the Apple Builder Punch only, with Cherry Cobbler Cardstock. I then edged the apple with Cherry Cobbler Ink using a Sponge Dauber (one of my favourite colouring tools).
The leaf is Shaded Spruce Cardstock that is also edge using a Sponge Dauber, but with Shaded Spruce Ink.
The stem is Early Espresso Cardstock.
For the added 'shine' on the apple, I used a white gel pen.
The stitched Whisper White piece is die cut using the Stitched Nested Labels Dies and our new Stampin' Cut & Embossing Machine!
You may also notice the pretty patterned plaid paper I used. This paper comes from the new Plaid Tidings 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper! There are so many plaid designs that you can use for ANY occasion including Fall, Christmas, Valentines, and more. It's so pretty and I mean, who doesn't love plaid?! This is definitely another item to add to your Stampin' Up! shopping cart.
For the coordinating gift, I made a cute mini hand sanitizer holder using the same supplies I used for the card. This sanitizer holder is so easy to make and really can be decorated for any occasion. It would also make a super cute party favour and can be filled with chocolate tea bags, or other. And how cute are the Mosaic Gusseted Cellophane Bags?!
Be sure to subscribe to my newsletter to receive an exclusive PDF Project Tutorial right to your inbox next week that will feature this cute little holder. This time though, I'll be sharing a Christmas Party Favour with you as an alternative project idea! SUBSCRIBE HERE!
I hope you've enjoyed the projects today. I had a lot of fun making them and I hope they can bring a little smile to the boys' teachers.
To all of the Teachers, Support Staff, Principals, Custodians, and all other Educators working in the schools, THANK YOU! Please know that we support you and thank you for all that you are doing to keep our children safe. We are so grateful for you.
