Hello, friends! Welcome to another round of the Paper Craft Crew Design Challenge! For this week's sketch challenge I am using the Humming Along Stamp Set from the 2019 Occasions Catalogue. I absolutely love this set, which I previously used for a blog hop (you can see that post here).
Here is the sketch from this week's challenge:
This set is a colouring set, but I've decided to go with a classic black and white card, with just a pop of colour. For the background of the card I just stamped the large floral image randomly throughout and then used a piece of Vellum Cardstock as an overlay for a more muted tone.
I used a combination of the Stitched Shape Framelit Dies and the Layering Circle Framelits, as well as the beautiful Well Written Stamp Set and coordinating Well Written Framelits for the sentiment and the leaves in behind the laying circles.
For the humming bird itself, I really tried to use nature as my inspiration for the colouring. I tend to go this way when I am colouring a more realistic or animal image as I want that more realistic feel. You can see the images below for a comparison of the picture I used as inspiration versus my watercoloring. I LOVE watercolouring so much!

I just love how this card turned out and plan on making a few other variations with different colours and occasions. I have included a full list of products below.
If you're in the Hamilton, ON area and are interested in learning the basics of watercolouring, then join me at my upcoming Technique Class: Intro to Watercolouring on Saturday, March 23rd! This class will provide you with an introduction to watercolouring in your card making. You can sign up for the class HERE.
If you have any questions regarding today's card, create a site account and pop the question below and I'll be happy to answer!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Don't forget to submit your own project for the Paper Craft Crew weekly challenge!
