DIY Chalk Paint Rustic Ornaments

Updated: Jan 3, 2020

Happy Friday, and Happy Week 5 of 12 Weeks of Christmas! I am so excited to show you another DIY project. This week we are bringing out the chalk paint and stamping some beautiful images on some pretty wood slice ornaments using the new Delicata Shimery Silver Ink.

Here is the full video tutorial:

These are incredibly easy to make and would make a great gift or craft fair item.

Here are some additional items and tips:

  • The wood slice ornaments I purchased are from Amazon. They measure 2.5" - 3". You can view these on Amazon by clicking HERE.

  • Be sure to wipe your wood surface with a dry cloth before painting. This will ensure there are no particles on the wood before you paint.

  • I recommend doing 2 - 3 counts of chalk paint.

  • Ensure that the paint is dried completely before doing any stamping or hand lettering.

  • The Delicata Ink comes in Silvery Shimmer and Golden Glitz. Both work really well with the chalk paint!

  • Any stamp set will work! For my project specifically I used the Dashing Deer and Perfectly Plaid Stamp Sets.

I hope you give these a try! There is still pently of time to make these in time for Christmas. I'd love to see what you've done too! Use the hashtag #sweetpaperstudios when posting to social media so I can check it out.
